712 Cleveland St., Sebastian

Pareidolia Brewing Company is so popular that it didn’t take long before owners Lynn and Pete Anderson realized they needed more space to produce their fine craft beers. Luckily, the old Sebastian post office building was empty at the time, and it perfectly fit their needs.

And, luckily for their customers, the move allowed them to double their brewing capacity and create even more craft beer.

They specialize in ales, Pete Anderson says. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have fine IPAs, porter and other popular varieties. They also serve food and entertain with live bands. They get almost universally rave reviews on Yelp, with customers praising their beer, food, outdoor tables and general ambiance.

So, you might ask, how do you pronounce the name of this very popular brewery in Sebastian. It’s par-uh-DOE-lee-ah. And what does it mean? Pete has an answer for that.

“We were living in the Pacific Northwest and sitting on the back porch watching the moon and the clouds one evening.” Like many people, they saw faces and animals in the cloud formations. “We were familiar with the term pareidolia, which refers to the ability to see patterns in shapes such as clouds.”

That experience led the couple to name the craft brewing company Pareidolia.

“We have a diverse selection to offer at any time,” Pete says. “And all ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible.”

"They are the Cheers of Sebastian."

"Excellent beers, food, live music, trivia, charity events, warm atmosphere."
