Yes, your dream home can come true. If you can dream it, Helmet House Construction’s team can design and build it — or, build it from your plans.

The company will be 36 years old in April, says co-owner Rhoda Jelmby. She and her husband, Jan Jelmby, both from Sweden, build custom homes, do renovations and additions and create custom cabinetry. They also do some upscale commercial building, she says. Most of their work is on the barrier island. Helmet House recently built St. Paul’s Church on Ocean Drive.

The name of the company, Helmet, comes from a translation of their last name, she explains.

They specialize in creating comfortable, functional living environments suitable for any family or lifestyle. At the same time, they work closely with clients to meet their tastes, needs and budgets.

The company builds all their cabinetry and specialty carpentry in-house, making sure that the craftsmanship and quality they want to deliver is there. Their state-of-the-art cabinet shop allows master craftsmen to build almost anything.

Helmet House also builds additions and does renovations, with the ability to take something ordinary and create something extraordinary.
