The boys of summer are back in Port St. Lucie for spring
Mets players warm up during a recent spring training. Even the stars have to work out and perform to make the team.

The hottest ticket on the Treasure Coast this March will
be the spring training game between the New York
Mets and the 2007 World Series Champions Boston
Red Sox.
Highly coveted tickets for the March 10 game sold out
shortly after going on sale Jan. l9. Last year’s Mets-Red Sox
game was the most highly attended of any of its spring
training games since the Mets came to Port St. Lucie in 1988.
For the past six years, Mets fans have set attendance
records at Tradition Field and this year’s spring training
numbers are expected to exceed last year’s. “We don’t think
last year’s finish will affect attendance,” said Matt Gagnon,
administrative assistant to the New York and St. Lucie Mets.
“People are coming to see a baseball game They want to see
the young players who want to make it to the big leagues.
It’s a good opportunity to see the stars of tomorrow.”
