“We’re currently exploring the mix of retail and office space
that would be most appropriate, given the growth of the adjacent
Florida Center for Innovation Research Park,” McCurry
said. “Market conditions may dictate that we focus more heavily
on office space in the project. We do not have a scheduled
opening date at this time.”
Eventually, Martin Memorial Health Systems is expected to
build an 80-bed hospital near Torrey Pines, and a hotel is expected
next to Village Pointe, bringing more shoppers to the area.
The large selection of stores in Tradition “give people
options to be in our community and not drive forever, and
that’s important,” said Linda Cox, executive director of the St.
Lucie County Chamber of Commerce. “It’s convenient, and it
improves the quality of life here in this county. Many of us
won’t have to drive to Jensen Beach anymore.”
