300 ATTEND FASHION SHOW
There were plenty of new surprises in store for the
300 guests at this year’s annual fashion show hosted by
the Port St. Lucie Business Women. Event co-chairs Jodi
Dargan, of Staffing Solutions and Renee Major of the
city of Port St. Lucie wanted this year to be bigger and
better than ever, so they moved the event to the exclusive
Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club. “We were
still able to sell out and, between big ticket raffles and a
spectacular silent auction, our group raised more money
than ever, all of which benefits women’s scholarships
and our community action partners,” Major said.
Guests had the chance to win some extravagant raffle
items including a seven-night cruise, a $2,500 Gucci handbag
and a stunning Tahitian pearl and diamond necklace.
Included in the silent auction were everything from gourmet
cooking items, jewelry, golf outings, spa days, a laptop
and everything in between, said silent auction chair
Susan Fines of SM Fines Insurance Agency.
The fashions were provided by Macy’s of Vero Beach
and were modeled by many local professionals, wearing
everything from career to resort and evening wear. For
the first time, the show boasted men’s and children’s
models, including Sheriff’s Office counsel Adam
Fetterman and SWAT Team members Robert Loupe and
Darren Lidbetter. Saxophonist Peter Morton provided
great entertainment, keeping in tune with the show’s
theme of All That Jazz.
The fashion show always brings the generations together:
Mayor Patricia Christenson brought her young granddaughter;
Carol Wyatt of WPSL and Rhonda Blakey, of
Staffing Solutions, each brought their mothers.
