L. Fenn, who had a multifaceted
career as an educator,
coach and city and county
commissioner, are recognized
in a new recreation center
that carries his name

Havert L. Fenn read one day that someone should
take responsibility for getting things done. So, he
did. He dedicated his whole life to it.
And in return, although in his wildest dreams
he never expected it, the St. Lucie County government dedicated
a building to him.
For most of his adult life, Fenn served the adults and youth
of St. Lucie County as an educator, football coach, mentor, or
elected official. In October, when St. Lucie County opened a
civic center and special needs shelter that serves adults and
youth in recreation, education and as a life-saving special needs
hurricane shelter, it was named, fittingly, after Coach Fenn.
