Name of Nonprofit: Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County
Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
What are they?: At the onset of the COVID 19 crisis, The Boys and Girls Club of Martin County immediately identified that food for children and families would be a major issue and this has proven to be true. Since March 16th, we have provided more than 35,000 free and healthy dinners and 12,000 snacks and the demand is increasing. In the last week, we served 40% more dinners than the week before!
We will serve meals as long as we are blessed with support.
• Our Caseworkers are offering critical telephone and online support, not just to the children we were already serving, but to all of our families all day, every day.
• We are reaching our club members with Club Connect, providing homework help with certified teachers, story time, STEM in Action, and other live, online learning opportunities. BGCMC is also promoting healthy lifestyles through our online Sports and Culinary Modules.
• Our 47 AmeriCorps staff have worked more than 4,000 hours in the past weeks for a number of Martin County’s community service organizations.
• We are a resource for Caregivers. During meal distribution, families receive community updates, including crisis hotline, health, and Club Connect flyers.
As the crisis intensifies, so does the work and our resolve. We remain committed to Martin County’s most vulnerable families and our efforts are growing each day.
We ask you to support our efforts with a contribution to the Boys and Girls Club of Martin County Emergency Relief Fund. You help us make an enormous difference in the lives of so many children. Please donate online or send your contribution to us at Box 910, Hobe Sound, FL 33475.
How can people donate?: Please donate online at www.bgcmartin.org or send your contribution to us at Box 910, Hobe Sound, FL 33475.
