Greatest athletic accomplishment: “Definitely winning the
Working Hunter at the American Quarter Horse Association
World Show last August in Oklahoma. It’s something I’ve
worked toward accomplishing for three years.’’
What inspires me: “My parents. They have always taught me
that I can accomplish anything if I put in the hard work and
dedication.”
Plans after high school: “I plan to continue riding with a
college riding team.”

don’t. Megan is one of those people who does. She listens
very well. I tell her something and she puts forth the effort.
And it shows in the show arena as the total package.”
“She is every teacher’s dream, hardworking and accountable,”
says Rebecca Jones, American history teacher at John
Carroll. “The kids like her and so do the faculty and staff.
She’s got everything going for her. If you ask her to do it, it
gets done. She puts pride in everything she does. Whatever
her mom and dad are doing, I’d like that secret formula.”

showing horses. “You have to learn the horse’s personality
and you have to conform to that. They aren’t machines.
Megan and Ricky have a promising career. They are hard to
beat in the show arena in their class. She started out with a
more complicated horse, but when she got Ricky, she hit the
ground running. That’s for sure.”
Hewitt says Osteen has the skill and drive to make it in the
horse show business. “I was born and raised around horses,”
