New Vision’s State-Of-Art Facility Opens
Opening on schedule, New Vision Eye Center moved into its new
home on 37th Place in Vero Beach on June 20 joining a huge medical
community on 37th Street.
The new location is just east of Vero Radiology and across the
street from Indian River Medical Center. The process of choosing this site
was somewhat tedious and deliberate but in the end was clarified by applying
the same precepts and criteria which New Vision applies every day
in the care of their patients, namely: safety, efficiency, technology and the
overall quality of the patient experience.
“The location turned out to be great because it is across from the hospital,’’
said Dr. Paul Minotty. “ That was the key. Being located in a single
story facility with quiet access and egress in the heart of the medical district
will help to contribute to safe patient visits.”
The 19,000-square-foot center has 12 exam rooms, eight work-up
rooms and a 7,000 square-foot surgical center. New Vision’s interior was
led by Minotty’s youngest daughter Christina Minotty Bruce, 28, an interior
designer living in Savannah and a graduate of the Savannah College of Art
and Design. Proud dad Minotty said, “Christina coordinated everything from
designing the patient flow, choosing all the colors and finishes; it was fun to
work with my daughter.”
Dr. Minotty, Dr. Roger Meyer, Dr. David O’Brien and Dr. Stephen Tate
are proud that along with the brand new space comes brand new equipment,
ensuring that their patients receive the most up to date technological
advantages. Their high tech visits will be easy and pleasant. An unseen upgrade
is the computerization of patient records, which meant scanning tens
of thousands of paper patient files and installing a computer workstation in
every examination room and diagnostic lane. This enables the doctors to
see a patient’s entire medical
history with a click of a mouse.
“It is a great system
of checks and balances,”
Minotty said.
“We will represent every
specialty both medically and
surgically as far as ophthalmology
is concerned,” Dr. Minotty
said. “In addition, we will be
able to grow if that is something
we decide to do.”
