Building St. Lucie County’s Future
Between 2017-2022, the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County assisted with
66 projects anticipated to add 15+ million square feet of new facilities and which, as of 2022,
have already added/retained 7,208+ jobs in our community.
Groundbreakings and project announcements are exciting; they give us a window into our future. Hundreds
of temporary local direct and indirect jobs are created during the construction lifecycle of most EDC projects.
But, the best part is when the expansion is done or the new facility is completed. That’s when permanent jobs
can be created and increased property tax revenues begin to flow to our municipalities, schools, fire district,
Ch ildren’ s Se r v ices C ouncil and other tax ing district s, ul timately b en e fiting all of St. Lucie County’s residen ts.
