The Elliott Museum is a wonderful combination
of science, art, history and more that fascinates
tourists and residents alike. The exhibits and
collections have that wow factor that makes
people want to return and to tell their friends where
they’ve been.
The wide variety of exhibits, the technology, guided
tours and intriguing talks add up to an outstanding place
to visit for an afternoon. The museum has everything going
for it, making it a fun place to be. And tourists agree.
Those who visit consider it a must-see stop on the vacation
agenda. “That’s what we want,” museum CEO Jennifer
Esler says. “We want people to come here and enjoy
it and to have fun.” Visitors love the classic cars, she says,
and the Foucault pendulum. The pendulum, often found
in science museums, dramatically demonstrates how the
Earth rotates each day on its way around the sun.
Most of the cars are stored in a unique and very futuristic
way in the museum garage. Each car sits on a metal
plate that can be moved to a display position. It is the only
museum in the country that does this with vintage cars.

‘‘ ‘‘ I was impressed by the early American history
displays. It gives you a real sense of early
American and Treasure Coast history.
