Black and white are prominent colors of the house, both inside and
out. Lots of wood trim is found throughout including in the kitchen
and dining room.
as Bill points out, “The thick wood siding on the exterior
adds texture. Even though it is a white house, the wood
makes it look like different colors because of the molding
and different patterns.”
UTILIZING SPACE
Inside, the kitchen has a tall, vaulted ceiling that
is typical in a one-story house but fits this two-story
dwelling very well. Off the kitchen is what Cecilia calls
the Gathering Room. It is large and overlooks the water
through huge windows. “I saw this room at a house in
Biloxi, and I had to have it,” says Cecilia. “They the
architect and builder made it happen.”
The Anspachs tried to efficiently utilize all spaces.
“This is command central,” says Cecilia as she describes
the nook under the stairwell that serves as her office.
“It’s a spot where I am close to the kitchen but I can get
some work done.”
The couple also added little features to the home to
make the pets more comfortable. The mud room is spacious.

“We wanted a Dutch door here so that we could
keep our dog in here without it feeling lonely,” says
Cecilia. In the laundry room, there is a hole in the door for
the cats to come in and out. Cecilia also points out space
