since 2015.
Meanwhile, longtime airport
director Eric Menger
announced he is retiring
to spend more time with
his grandchildren. Menger,
who has been in charge of the airport since 1996, said he had
planned to retire for several months and the retirement wasn’t based

STUART AIRPORT GETS $4 MILLION UPGRADE
Precision Jet Center is planning $4 million in improvements to
Witham Field in Stuart.
The changes include a new hangar and a repair facility. The Martin
County Commission in early April approved a 13-year lease with
Precision Jet Center for Hangar 3 at the airport, which previously had
been used for fire rescue training.
The hangar is expected to be demolished and Precision Jet Center
will pay the county about $63,000 in rent. Precision Jet Center maintains
and repairs Learjets, King Airs and Citation 500 series aircraft.
PSL TO SELL EAST LAKE VILLAGE PROPERTY
The city of Port St. Lucie has entered a contract with real estate
broker Colliers International to market its East Lake Village property
for mixed-use development. The 2.8-acre property is on Hillmoor
Drive at Lennard Road.
The city took over the property in 2016 after it was seized by the
county because the previous owner, East Lake Village Center LLC of
Jupiter, failed to pay property taxes and assessments, which now
total $496,755.
TENANT SOUGHT FOR HANGAR
St. Lucie County is seeking a tenant to operate its $7 million hangar
being built at Treasure Coast International Airport.
The 28,500-square-foot hangar, slated to be completed this summer,
is nearly 60 feet tall and has room for two commercial aircraft.
Airport officials see it as being key for development of the airport’s
