BOATERS OF INTEREST
Name: Bill Bryant
Age: 64
Family: Wife Nancy; sons
Andy, 42, Christopher, 40,
and Randy, 34; daughter
Sereta, 28.
How I got interested in
boating: “My dad was a
policeman in Washington,
D.C., and he taught my
brother and I boating on the Potomac River.”
Best day on the boat: “Cruising the upper limits of the St.
Johns River where it is wild, very natural and winding.”
Worst day on the boat: “We were racing at Lake Wales with six
other skiffs at about 70 miles per hour trying to catch the boat
“Starship.” His boat hopped three times, came down hard and
broke in half. It sank immediately. The pilot and his rider were
rescued with minor injuries. “After that we won’t do any more
serious racing.”
