IRSC honored with Aspen Award
In April, Indian River State College was named
Number One in community college excellence in
the nation by the Aspen Institute. Selected from
more than 1,000 state and community colleges,
IRSC was selected for its transfer rate, bachelor’s
degree attainment rate, alumni earnings, postgraduation
employment rates and affordability.
Florida SBDC at IRSC Holds 7th
Annual Small Business Conference
The 7th Annual Entrepreneurship and
Small Business Conference featured author
and futurist Jim Blasingame. More than
240 attended the May 7 event where four
outstanding local businesses were honored,
Florida Chamber Foundation chief economist
Jerry Parrish discussed the latest economic
trends and 12 workshops were offered.

Convey Health Solutions
Creates New Jobs
Now leasing the 60,000
square feet of Class A office
space at the former Liberty
Medical Building in Port St.
Lucie, Convey will be creating
more than 100 new jobs. St.
Lucie County Transit worked
with Convey to relocate a bus
stop, ensuring their existing
and new employees will have
access to public transportation.
Treasure Coast International Airport
Gets New Hangar
Construction is underway on the new MRO
Hangar at the Treasure Coast International Airport.
Standing 57 feet tall with a 43-by-130-foot door, the
new MRO Hangar will comfortably accommodate
two large aircraft.
City Electric Supply/TAMCO Nearing
Completion of New Facility
Construction is expected to be complete
on the 411,000-square-foot facility in the
third quarter of 2019. This project, the first
new industrial business in the Tradition
Center for Commerce, retained 210 jobs
and will add 50 new jobs.
OCULUS Expands Facility
This existing St. Lucie West business will
be expanding into a new 50,000-square-foot
state-of-the-art facility in the Tradition Center
for Commerce, retaining 32 employees
and adding 50 new jobs. Construction is
expected to begin late 2019/early 2020.
Pursuit Boats Receives Site Plan
Approval for New Facility
The site plan has been approved for
more than 500,000 square feet of new
facility space in Fort Pierce. Recently purchased
by Malibu Boats, Pursuit currently
has 400 employees and will be adding 200
new jobs. Construction on the first phase
is slated for 3rd quarter.
Concrete Impressions Makes a Move to Fort Pierce
Site improvements are underway for this premier manufacturer of sound walls and
barriers. The company, currently based in Pompano Beach, acquired 18 acres of land
in Fort Pierce for manufacturing and distribution. Once the facility is complete, 15
new jobs will be added.
