Inside, the sheer mass of green knolls and slopes of the golf
courses, interspersed with rippling blue lakes, far outweighs
the number of homes.
Tesoro’s “preferred builders” – picked in advance by Ginn
Resorts – all build in Tesoro with an Italian-Mediterranean
theme. Homes are as varied in appearance and size as their
owners’ tastes. Some are second homes or vacation homes,
while others are primary residences.
The Budnicks designed their own home in the shape of a
butterfly with wings spread, Judie Budnick said. Lavelle
was the builder.
It took Judie about two years to design and decorate. With
the freedom to choose from the finest of furnishings and
invent what didn’t come ready-made, she accomplished her
goal of creating a sense of peace and harmony throughout.
Dinner at the club is a constant in the lives of many
Tesoro residents.
“It’s world-class,” Judie Budnick said. “We’ve traveled all
over the world, and this restaurant is the equal of any of them.”
Socializing with others at Tesoro plays a big part in the
lives of residents. Special events with special touches
include, for instance, a Miami Dolphins game to which residents
had special access. Tesoro’s Executive Chef Robert
Shurger provided the tailgate fare, drawing a crowd of
onlookers inspecting the sumptuous dishes in
silver servers.
“We went to Worth Avenue recently,” Judie Budnick said.
“They took us in a limousine, we walked around, went to
Tabu’s for lunch, then when we got back in the limousine,
they had little tea sandwiches and fresh fruit for us. It was
