he Burrowing Owls (Athene cunicularia) are found in
open treeless range land. Unlike most owls they hunt
in the day time, and roost under ground. Only 10 inches
high with a 20 inch wing span they hunt small rodents,
reptiles, and insects. Unlike other owls, they also eat fruits
and seeds. Their most striking feature is their yellow eyes.
