boating to the area, and that was the downfall for fishing in the
Indian River. He went on to operate a marine construction business,
building docks and bulkheads. He’s retired now, but the
business remains in the family.
He says he’s had a good life, but that the turn of the last
century must have been an ideal era for Florida settlers like
his grandparents.
