Inside nearby Holman
Stadium, where the Dodgers
play their exhibition games,
Melbourne resident Bill
McNutt and his 9-year-old
son, Judd, seemed just as
bewildered.
“There’s talk that the city
which, along with Indian
River County, owns the
Dodgertown complex will

the Dodgers are gone,”
McNutt said. “I’ll try to support

I’ve been coming to Dodger
games here for more than 20
years. We love this park
because it’s so intimate. It’s so
easy for Judd to get autographs.”
Indeed, the worst seat at
quaint Holman Stadium is only 17 rows from the field. And
uniquely in all of baseball, the dugouts have no roofs. That
Fans, above, watch the game from the berm over left field. Some fans
prefer the berm, used to accommodate overflow crowds, over the stadium.
Below, Tommy Lasorda, left, one of the most successful baseball
managers in history and a Dodger fixture for more than 50 years, still sits
with the team during spring training games.
