A century
of service
conveys a lifetime
of compassion
and experience
Compassion and experience are the words
that come to mind with Yates Funeral Homes.
Not even the best pre-arranged plans can fully
prepare you for the loss of a loved-one.
At Yates Funeral Homes, their compassion
has proven itself – dating back for more
than a century. And with compassion
comes experience. It may be
tough for you and your family
when news arrives, but
it can be simple with arrangements.

What most people
don’t know about
me: “I am really a
nice guy.”
What inspires me: “The joy that people
show when we give them roses.”
Proudest achievement: “I finally found
something I’m good at. It’s retirement.”
and Sharon, 41, a vice president at Goldman Sachs in New
York. They also have two grandsons.
Roy and Mary Schick are die-hard fans of the Florida Gators.
For decades, they’ve followed the football and basketball
teams through great, good and not so good seasons.
For football games, they’ve had the same seats in the west
stands of Florida Field, on the 45 yard line, 72 yards up,
since 1963.
“All games used to start at 2 o’clock,” he said. “We were
the first ones to get the shade.”
These days, Gator fans – with two consecutive national
basketball championships and a national football championship
– are enjoying their days in the sun, just like Schick’s roses.
