herever Judie Budnick looks, sweeping
curves of green greet her in Tesoro.
Set jewel-like on a finger of land, ringed
on three sides by blue water, the home she
shares with husband Robert is the largest in
the exclusive luxury community whose name translates from
the Italian Tesoro to “Treasure.”
Tesoro (pronounced TesORo) is a Ginn Resorts luxury golf
course community almost on the *artin County line in
southern Port St. Lucie. Fronting on Becker Road, adjacent to
Florida’s Turnpike, it will eventually contain 022 homes, two
golf courses, 300,000 square feet of clubhouse, tennis courts,
a croquet court, restaurants, pool, fitness center and
other amenities.
Home site prices range from 7800,000 to 73.2 million.
Custom-built homes begin at 73.2 million.
“Our Arnold Palmer Signature golf course has been open
for two years, and our Tom Watson-designed course opens in
November,” said J.R. Congdon, director of club operations in
Port St. Lucie.
But there are two more parts to Tesoro< Tesoro Preserve
south of Port St. Lucie Boulevard on the St. Lucie River
opens off of Westmoreland Boulevard. Tesoro Beach Club
=illas is on South Hutchinson Island.
The Preserve, with deep water access, is planned for 880
homes. The Beach Club features 300 villas.
Right now, Tesoro on Becker Road has 88 houses completed
and about 32> more under construction. Buildout is slated
for 2033. One end of the massive Grande Italianate clubhouse
is completed, with a pro shop downstairs and restaurant and
balustraded terrace upstairs. The rest should be finished
this fall.
Tesoro Preserve has several homes under construction and
a nature trail which winds through woods and fields.
Pre-construction for a posh club and pool complex is
under way at the Beach Club =illas on South Hutchinson
Island. It will include an open-air lounge, gourmet restaurant,
and concierge services.
