Evening at Auction
The Estate of Paul and Lehr Filipe, Palm City
More than 180 guests braved the unseasonable cold to support
The Pine School at its 32nd Annual Evening at Auction,
held. Sponsored by Premier Realty Group, the event’s theme
was “A White Knight” (a play on The Pine School’s mascot).
Guests, dressed all in white, enjoyed a dinner, dancing and a
casino at Paul and Lehr’s private estate in Palm City.

Joey Miller, center, began St. Lucie Battery & Tire nearly 40 years ago as a side business
to his farm stand on Orange Avenue Extension in Fort Pierce. Folks could get tires and
batteries when they stopped for their eggs and milk. Today, with sons Doug, left, and
Mickey, right, Miller oversees nine St. Lucie Battery and Tire stores on the Treasure
Coast, stretching from Sebastian to Hobe Sound. You might not be able to pick up eggs
and milk when you visit one of his stores today, but you’ll feel like family.
