vaulted cypress beam ceiling adorns the kitchen. Poles made
from coconut trees are under the kitchen counter, and some
counter tops are made from coconut shells. Cork flooring in
the game room and laundry room is made of bark from Mediterranean
trees farmed so that the trees are not killed. Grass
cloth window treatments and fans made of sailing cloth keep
the house cool.
Debbie collected shells from the beach where her children
surfed and painstakingly inlaid them in the front entryway
steps. She also personally collected sea glass from Hawaii
and in Cuba while visiting a friend who lived in Guantanamo
Bay. These were inlaid in the outside bar and grill countertop.
Other unique natural features in the Langley home include
a sink in the guest bathroom made of a carved rock from an
ancient Indonesian river bed, and a lava base sink in another
bath. Shell stone flooring and countertops are in Alli’s
bathroom while Bobby’s bath has beach rock in the sink and
shower. “Boys love to throw rocks and skip stones in the water,”
says Debbie. “Bobby’s floor looks like a dock.” Indonesian
tree stumps serve as planter stands and side tables.
To keep up with the bright Florida theme, the Langleys like

Fabian Regood of Home Artistry and Design helped the Langleys with color
schemes. They wanted something natural. Sand and blue water colors are
predominant throughout.
